Meet The Board
Susanne Strickland Nazian serves as the President of the Board of Directors of CURES for Chester. She has been with CURES as Assistant Executive Director and Development Director from 2019 to the present. She is a retired Unitarian Universalist minister. Susanne regards her work with CURES as a ministry, helping her home town to prosper, and find peace and joy for all its people. Her vision is of the beloved community of which Dr. King spoke so many years ago.
Joyce Chisholm Grafton
Joyce Grafton is a public educator who has spent 23 years in this career. Carolina. While
working on her doctorate, she focused her research on how communities and societies fail and succeed
over time. She is passionate about helping people transcend through their adversities to become their
possible selves. She is the author of Enlightened Teaching: Elevating Through Maslow’s Hierarchy of
I am Cassandra Campbell-Craig, known many as “Cassie”. I was born in McConnells, South Carolina which is in York County.
I am a member/secretary of the Board of Trustees for CURES, a non-profit organization in Chester. Being a member, my hope is to help make a change in the community to better the lives of people who need assistance, whether it's in education, finding a place to live or finding a job.
Jake Sanders, III is a native of Sumter, SC, and currently serves as senior pastor of Calvary Baptist church in Chester, SC. His aim while serving on the board of cures is to uphold its mission by ensuring redeveopment and that every citizen of Chester is afforded the opportunity of experiencing economic stability. Jake's motto is "in a world where you can be anything be nothing but yourself."
